Hope y’all enjoyed every ounce of summer. Class bells are ringing again, which means SCTP registration opens September 1st. Any practice or full-blown tournament after that date needs every coach, parent volunteer, and athlete registered so they’re covered by SCTP insurance.

• Head & Assistant Coaches  $40       

• Adult Volunteers         $40      

ATA & NSCA/NSSA fees are additional and are required for the State Championship. Be sure to retire anyone no longer on your roster inside the SHOT system so they don’t keep getting emails from us.

FORMS: Athlete consent, coach waiver, and volunteer waiver are 100 % electronic in the latest SHOT system. No more stamping envelopes or chasing signatures—just click, confirm, done.

Housekeeping Must-Dos

• Study the SCTP Handbook & Best Practices. The better your athletes know the rulebook, the smoother tournaments will run.

• Add your practice facility or school as “Also Insured.” Pull the Insurance Summary and contact Leslie Casanova if you need help.

• Register for the NGBs (ATA, NSSA, NSCA) through SHOT—this feeds your MidwayUSA account and is required for the State Shoot.

• Junior Shooters Magazine: ask each athlete if they want in, then tick the box during registration.

• Profile Audit: verify every email, grade, classification, and T-shirt size while you’re in SHOT. Check coach profiles for expiring background checks or certifications. Background checks are required for every adult!

Why Host a League Shoot?

Hosting is optional, yet it opens a treasure chest of fundraising perks: you choose whatever food, side-games, raffles, post-match clinics — whatever fits your club culture. Just square each idea with the host range’s policies, then let the cash registers ring.

Hosting a Shoot?

• Build awards in SHOT 5 early—DFW events are already in the queue.

•  Uniform pricing statewide:

  •  $70 · 100-target   Sporting Clays

  •  $50 · 100-target   Trap, Skeet, or Doubles

  •  $42 · 75-target   specialty events

  • Texas SCTP drops $1 per athlete per event into the respective team's Midway account at the end of the season.

• All checks made out to Texas SCTP

• Target costs nudged up at every club—plan accordingly.

• Texas SCTP drops $1 per athlete per event into your Midway account.

P.S. Teams can still run open shoots any weekend that doesn’t overlap a league date.
